Rescuing A Legend

Candle Glow trotted carefully towards the ruins. Never before had she entered the Everfree, despite living so near to it. She shuddered slightly as she tucked her map away into her saddlebags and looked towards the entrance for the other ponies who's names had been drawn from a hat to go, and a few more who had volunteered.

Switchblade looked up at the ruins, his armor that he wore years ago so proudly, covered by a long black hooded coat, he checked around, searching for the others who might know what they should do.

Frozen stared at the entrance with a sigh. He drew his cloak over him, it was black and it had a hood but it covered just above his hoofs. HE trotted in and was soon draped in darkness of the thick trees.

Bright Sides bounced along the old worn path that led to the entrance of the ruins, she was no longer a young filly but now a mare, yet she had retained the innocents that she had all those years ago.

She still wore the same green bow though faded over the years. In her saddle bags among the foods and first aid kit sat an old friend. A pony shaped doll wearing a faded orange vest and hat. She had been searching for her kit when she had found it, she had never given it a name or at lest any she could recall, most ponies would laugh at her bringing a doll on a mission like this but something about it...made her feel safer. This was true ever since she had enter the forest the atmosphere was lighter then normal.


Sweet Dreams jumped every now and then she had left late her dreams hadn't let her rest, it was not secret she feared the forest, but it puzzled many that her house sat at its border. But she had been picked for this mission so in order to help other she journeyed into it and was only now seeing her destination.

Candle glow lit her horn in the dim light of the setting sun, looking about her as Switchblade, Frozen, Bright and Sweet came into view. "I assume you are the other volunteers?"

Switchblade looked at Candle and nodded, not saying a word, the vast majority of his face was hidden by the hood, and the parts that were not were covered by his goggles and a unmoving expression on his mouth that showed no emotion.

Frozen nodded and sat shook off his hood. "Since nobody else want to say anything, I'm Frozen. I think I'm the Element of Loyalty. Anybody else get theirs burned in for a second then it healed?" Frozen said looking around.

Bright sides and Sweet Dreams nodded one of them more excited then the other. Sunny was looking at the others with a wide smile while Sweets attention was focused more on the ruins in front of them her face white as a sheet.

Sunny smiled even wider "Hiya everypony!~ Names Bright Sides But you can call me sunny cuz well everypony does nowadays!~"

At this Sweets snaped out of it and looked around taking a step back from the ponies in shock before realizing they must be the others on this mission "U-um...I'm Sweet Dreams" She says digging a hoof into the dirt nervously scooting away from frozen and the mystery pony her fear of males getting to her once again.

Candle Nodded. "A pleasure to meet all of you, I'm Candle Glow." Pondering what Frozen said she blinked before dropping her saddlebag upon the ground, digging through it for a candle she had brought along. Then she lit it with her horn and set it in the center of the group to illuminate them in the light of the fading sun. "I don't recall what I'd be, though I did get burned earlier today.. happens a lot at work. "

Switchblade looked at the group, his face unmoving except for the flaring of his nostrils as he breathed, he sighed with boredom as the mare used her magic to light a candle; surely she could just use her magic to illuminate the area around them, he wasn't going to point that out though; that would require revealing who he was. Which was the exact reason why he volunteered instead of chancing his name being pulled out a hat and his identity known. He sat down and took out a small ornate pocketwatch, winding the mechanism with his magic before watching the cogs turn.

"So, who are you?" Frozen said trotting over to Switchblade. "Big scary colt?"
