HallowsEve & Spring Breeze

Spring Breeze was lounging on a cloud above Ponyvile waiting for something, anything to happen. She was bored and she hated being bored. She needed something to do. Frustrated she slammed her hoof against the cloud forcing a hole into it. Looking down through the hole she noticed a very interesting looking pony. She'd seen that pony before, she was the one who went around trolling the other ponies. Now I bet she could come up with a good adventure, Spring thought. Abandoning her cloud, she flew down to the strange unicorn.

Nikki skipped through the streets of Ponyville, humming a song as her tiny body flew past the other, older ponies who lived in her home.

She had tried to forget her lost brother Kid, and by doing so, had managed to push a mask of pure bliss onto her face around ponies she knew. She only lost it when she was by herself or when she was around her parents... which, seeming to be alone, turned her face into a canvas of sorrow.

It was too much for a filly her age. She was eight, studying as a prodigy to enter Princess Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns in two years, but not eight-year-old filly should ever have to go though losing someone she adored so much as her little-big brother Kid (or as she had liked to call him, Kitty). Her parents were suffering the same depression, but they had learned to hide it well, unlike the young unicorn sitting by herself in the trees.

She couldn't help it when she started crying. No foal can help it. The sadness rose in waves, turning the usually hyper ball of sunshine into a weeping mess.

She spotted two mares to the side, two she had never met, but she still couldn't pull on the mask. It was just too hard.

"Help..." she cried. "My brother's dead, and I can't get over him..."

Getting tired of being cooped up in her tree for days at a time working on experiments, I chose to leave for some fresh air. Calling after Crescent to accompany her, they both headed out and went to Ponyville to do some accessory shopping. While on her way to the shop, she looked up to see a cloud with a hole in it. What an odd cloud I've seen a cloud with a hole in it before she thought, staring curiously at the cloud. Suddenly, something flew off of the cloud and was headed right at her. She saw it was a pegasus, and from the looks of it, she wasn't going to slow down any time soon. She prepared for impact as the pegasus flew at high speed towards her.

Spring was a little too excited and started nosediving toward the other pony. She closed her eyes and felt the rush of the wind in her mane, which was cut off all too soon by the impact of smashing into the strange unicorn. She immediately jumped up and began dusting herself off. "Oh im sorr..." Her apology was cut short by the wail of a near by pony. Looking around Spring saw a filly, maybe a few years younger than her, looking sad and miserable. Spring hated to see ponies upset and immediately felt the need to go check on her. "Come on lets go see if we can help her." She said as she rushed off not even waiting to see if the other pony was following. She wrapped her wing warmly around the filly. "Hey don't cry it'll be ok. My name's Spring Breeze but you can call me Spring. I was just about to set out on an adventure. You two should come along with me it'll be great!! We can go out to sea, or you know the nearest river, or explore forbidden caves or.." Springs eyes shone as she imagined all the possibilities and fun games they could play. She loved adventuring but she loved adventuring with friends even more. Sure she didn't know these ponies but that could soon be fixed. "So what do you guys think?" The younger pony just stared at her and ran off. A little hurt and speechless, Spring tried to brush it off. "So uhh what about you?" She asked the remaining pony hoping she wouldnt run off too.

"I'm up for it", replied Hallow. She loved adventures and always went on them with a certain somepony. However, she didn't know this pony, she wasn't so sure in the beginning. The pegasus came crashing into her from a cloud. Hallow hadn't really seen her around before, but she liked her passion for adventure like herself. With that, they both began to head out to some mountains north of town.

The other filly was still on Spring's mind as they continued on to the mountains, she hoped she was ok, but it was hard to shake off something like that. Trying to distract her self she decided to try and get to know this pony better, she seemed nice and Spring already liked her, and she was always really fun during Nightmare night. "So whats in the mountains thats worth an adventure, uh uh..what was your name?"

Hallow chuckled at Spring for finally asking what her name was. "My name is Hallows Eve, but just call me Hallow. And up in the mountains you get to see some really cool views and some really cool creatures! I find jewelry up here every now and then." Spring didn't look as interested as Hallow had hoped, but she knew that if Spring would see what is up there, Spring would love it.

Uuuggghhh a view? Thats it? Spring wanted an adventure with excitement and danger, but she guessed a view and jewelry was cool too. Wait jewelry as in treasure? Yea if Hallow had found jewlry up there maybe there was hidden treasure as well!! Spring, who had been following slowly behind Hallow picked up her pace. She ran up the mountain side, relishing the feel of the cool breeze in her mane. Looking behind her, she noticed Hallow far off in the distance. "Hallow come on we gotta get to the top before somepony else does!!"

Hallow giggled. "It's more fun than what you think. There are traps that go off when you walk on or near them. I found that out the first time and didn't want to go in alone. Rumor has it, there is buried treasure in the tallest mountain where the traps lay. The treasures were supposedly hidden by the legendary Cloud Pirate Ponies."

Spring walked at Hallows slow pace and listened intently. "pirates?!" She asked excitedly. "that is sooo cool. was this their hide out or something? you have to tell me the story!!!" Spring stoped by a small tree on the side of the path and sat made herself comfortable in one of the branches, giving Hallow no choice but to stop and tell her the tale.

"Many years ago, there was a pirate pony named Marilyn Monpone who led a group of pirates to ponyville. They had been sailin' the gret blue sea for treasures, most of which they have found. However, they had there eyes set on the biggest treasure in equestria: a golden statue of the pony overlord. They searched and searched, but never found it to no avail. So, they hid their current treasure and lined traps all around it. But some were set off and killed some ponies. Legend has it they never found the golden statue."

Spring stared at Hallow in shock. "a treasure?? Lost forever!! How cool is that!!" She flew off her tree and up into the sky. "well what are we waiting for?? We gotta find the lost treasure and not their treasure. nope we gotta find the golden statue of the pony overlord!! How cool would that we!! Excitement!! Adventure!! and treasure!! BEST. ADVENTURE. EVER!!!"
