Sunny Days is waiting in the town square for Jim, whom she called earlier and planned to meet him here for dinner and a movie. She hoped he would show, but she understood if he couldn't, being a doctor and all.

Sunny had been quite stressed out with work, and really missed Jim. There was something...incomplete with her life if he wasn't by her side. He seemed to make the sun shine brighter, even on a rainy day.

She sat down on a bench, hoping he would show.

Jim trotted around his flat. This was the perfect meeting spot since he lived in the town square. He had missed Sunny a lot. He'd been pretty busy between work and those little adventure he liked to go on. Ooh, he still needed to show her that pond in the forest! Well, he already knew what to do next time.

He did up his mane a little and had his hooves shined. He wanted to look good for seeing the pony he missed the most. He looked himself over- well, at least presentable, as his dad would put it. He was pretty happy she'd asked him out too- his big worry was that he'd have to do Everything based on dates he'd previously been on. Didn't seem to be the case with this one.

He left his flat and looked around. He saw Sunny waiting on a bench. Bugger, was he late? He checked the time. Nope, she'd just got there before him. He trotted upti the bench and sat beside her, nuzzling her.

"Hi! Haven't seen you in a while. I've missed you!"

He handed her a bouquet of flowers he'd got at the florist earlier today. He wasn't really a romantic but he knew that flowers were always a good idea.

Sunny Days smelled the beautiful bouquet Jim gave to her, putting one of the flowers in her mane that was tied in a bun, and one right behind Jim's ear.

She got up from the bench and tightly hugged him.

"I missed you too, I'm sorry I couldn't see you sooner. I got a big story for the article and-" She stopped there, not wanting to talk about work on this occasion.

"Should we go to the restaurant now?"

Jim laughed when Sunny put a flower in his ear- didn't expect that. He hugged her back just as tightly, happy to be hugging the mare he loved so much. He grinned when she started talking about her work. Well, better not talk about work. They were there to relax after all.

He took Sunny's hoof and led her to the restaurant. It was a nice looking place- well decorated, candles at the tables, that sort of atmosphere. He smiled at Sunny. Of course he'd be happy eating anywhere if she was with him.

"I've never been here before. It's probably good though."

He sat at a table and got them menus. Looking through, he ordered himself some pasta. Not the fanciest stuff, but hay it was delicious. He looked over to Sunny.

"So, what are you having?"

Sunny Days looked around the restaurant. She had never been here before, always liking to stay in her home and eat a quick daisy sandwich for dinner. She couldn't help but let out a big grin. This was absolutely perfect. Not only was she with Jim, but she was eating dinner with him in a candle lit restaurant.

She snapped out of her trance-like state when Jim asked her what she was having, to which she replied, "I'm not sure, maybe a soup? Soup sounds nice,"

She ordered some soup, not really specifying what soup she wanted. She thought it would be an adventure to see what they would bring her when she simply asked for "soup".

"Is everything going well with you?" she asked him.

Jim started eating his pasta when Sunny asked him a question.

"Aye, things have been going fine. A bit hectic since that recent outbreak of pony pox. That's what majes it even better being out here with you- lets me forget about all that. How about you? Have have things been going for yourself?"

Normally Jim wasn't really that interested in this stuff. He usually just zoned out at this kind of question. But with Sunny he couldn't help but hang on to her every word. It was like she told the most interesting stories to him, even if they seemed mundane to the laypony. Every sound that came from her was happiness incarnate.

He kept eating his pasta. It was brilliant. He wondered what it was they put in it that made it taste this nice compared to others. This place was brilliant overall, since the service was quick and the atmosphere was great. And of course, Sunny was there with him. That was the big part.

Sunny Days cautiously sipped her soup, not wanting to burn her mouth. She looked over at Jim, so happy that she got to spend some time with him.

"I've been quite busy with the newspaper and all, which makes me even happier that I got to spend some time with you. I actually did an article on pony pox, funny that you brought it up," she said.

"So, what movie were you thinking of seeing?"

Jim thought a moment about what film to watch. He didn't really keep track of new releases, so he didn't really have a clue. He finished his soup and looked at Sunny. He loved looking at her. Those beautiful green eyes looking into his. He could stare at them forever. Of course he tried not to gawp but he couldn't help himself sometimes. Sunny didn't really seem to mind though.

"Well, I don't really keep track of what's coming out. What is we just pop up to the cinema and see what's on then go see that?"

He got his second course- grass salad with hay fries. Not a very posh meal but Jim wasn't much for class. Besides, this wasn't canterlot. He contemplated what kind of film to see. He'd heard a lot about mares loving romance films, but that was probably a stereotype. However, a romance would certainly fit the mood for what they were doing. What about horror? Those presented a couple of romantic prospects. Action films probably wouldn't- just explosions. Jim tired of those quickly. Oh, so much choice yet so little time.

Sunny Days is very excited for the movie. She hadn't been to the movies for awhile, and pondered what would likely be playing. A mystery would be very enjoyable, well, maybe that was because she ran into mysteries in her everyday job. She heard a popular movie that was out in the theaters was Flanksplosions IV , but she didn't think that would be very enjoyable. She shrugged, and decided that any movie would be enjoyable with Jim. He always had a knack to make everything...better. She looked over at him, and couldn't help but feel like a little schoolfilly. Even though she had been spending a lot of time with him, she still felt so nervous around him, but, nervous in a good way.

Jim finished up the food and payed the bill. He took Sunny's hoof, grinning at her. He wanted to hug her and kiss her a lot more than he did, but he equally didn't want to be smothering. He loved this mare after all, he wanted her to be happy. He guided her to the cinema which wasn't too far away. He looked over the film choices.

There was Flanksplosions IV, Night-Mare on Elm street, Monty Pony and the Holy grail, Sherclop Hooves or Pony and prejudice. He looked them over. Flanksplosions seemed a bit dumb, but of course he was with Sunny, which made any film great for him, 34th street would be pretty fun- especially if Sunny was a horror fan. He'd heard a lot about Monty Pony; apparently it was a classic, and utterly hilarious. Jim loved himself a comedy. Sherclop Hooves seemed more Sunny's thing- She seemed like she'd love a mystery. He couldn't really judge Pony and Prejudice- he wasn't much for Romance, even if it was apparently a lot deeper than that.

"So, what do you think we should see?"

Sunny Days looked at the list of movies, and couldn't decide. Sherclop Hooves looked tempting, but she wasn't so sure Jim would be thrilled with seeing that.

"Why not Monty Pony? Sounds like fun!" she told him.

Jim grinned. It didn't sound like Sunny's thing but he supposed he couldn't really be too devout to her. He loved her but he still had himself to look after, so he supposed he could indulge himself a little.

"Alright then. Lets go in."

He paid for their tickets then walked into the cinema Lovely place it was- sure, it wasn't exactly high class but Jim hated snobby ponies anyway. He nabbed himself some snacks for the film, then went into the theatre. He gave Sunny a nuzzle as they went into their theatre for Monty Pony. He sat down and waited for the film to begin.

He looked to Sunny. He was really suprised he'd managed to make this last as long as it did- he'd never tried to keep up anything long term, yet here he was sitting next to a mare he loved without any doubts so far about them being together.

"So, have you seen any of the other Monty Pony films?"

"No, I haven't, but everypony keeps on talking about them, so they must be good!"  Sunny Days whispered to Jim as the movie was about to start.

The film started to role and she laid her head on Jim's shoulder, holding his hand. There was nopony she would rather be watching this movie with than Jim. She realized how big he had became in her life. Whenever she had the spare time, she would always think about the fun times that they had together, and she was beyond happy to be able to spend some more time with him. Whenever she was around him she wished that time would stop, and she could stay eternally happy with Jim by her side.

Jim blushed a little when Sunny rested on his shoulder. He still wasn't used to that, he had to admit. He put his foreleg around Sunny and started watching Monty Pony.

It revolved around King Gaia trying to find the Holy grail for an Alicorn of some sort to prove he could be a prince. The while thing was hilarious to Jim- you could tell it was made by somepony from Trottingham since the humour was in that sort of style, ie clever but absolutely surreal. He found the bit near the end with the Holy hand grenade the best bit. You know a troupe of Knights are utterly incompetent when they need explosives to deal with a bunny.

Throughout the whole thing Jim felt Sunny resting on him. It was soothing; he was feeling two main emotions while here: hilarity at the film and a sense of peace with Sunny. She was like a beacon to him; his violent streak had started to decrease ever since he met her. He remembered all the fights as a colt, all the bullying. Sunny helped him to forget all that and simply enjoy himself. He wasn't even fancying lamping the rather obnoxious pony constantly giggling like a Schoolfilly.

When the credits rolled, Jim looked at Sunny and smiled at her. He leaned in close and kissed her, his love of her expressed in but an action. He didn't even really care at a couple of fillies giggling and a colt going "Eeeww" at them. At this moment all that mattered to him was this mare.

Sunny enjoyed the humorous movie, especially the bit with the holy hand grenade. She tried to keep her laughter down but it was just so funny. She felt so open around Jim, she didn't even mind that her mane started to get a bit messed up. Normally, this would frustrate her and she would try to fix it, but around Jim she didn't let it bother her and distract her from the movie they were watching together.

Jim leaned in for a kiss, and she couldn't help but blush. Even though she has known him for awhile, Jim just makes her feel all bubbly inside, like butterflies are racing in her stomach. She kissed him back, embracing the moment that they shared.

"That was a really great movie, thanks for taking me out to see it," she told him.

Jim grinned at Sunny. Great, she'd enjoyed herself. Since when was he this confident? Normally he'd get a little nervous at this sort of stuff, but around Sunny he could just relax. He supposed that was the beauty of this whole thing- to him, she wasn't just a mare he could kiss and hug. She was also his best friend, somepony he could really talk to and enjoy himself with.

"I should be thanking you. Being with you beats any film."

He took Sunny's hoof again and they left the theatre. He walked her back to her house and gave her a nuzzle and an "I love you" before trotting away, grinning back at the mare he loved so much.
