Erika Darknight was killed one night when she was stabbed in the neck by a very good serial killer. Said serial killer was caught and executed, but the Royal Guard was secretly relieved that the young mare who had them wrapped around her highly skilled horn was finally gone.

In other words, She's going to be gone because with her illness, I don't really know how to make her react with others. Maybe she'll come back later as a different pony, but for now, she's dead and gone.
