Species: Earth Pony
Mane: Black with one white streak of hair due to stress, held up in a ribbon normally.
Tail: Black, Messy
Body: Dark Green, slightly muscular
Cutie Mark: Trapper’s cuite mark is a cartoonish Venus fly trap “mouth” surrounded by the white petals that the same shape as a fly traps white flower, from random points it seems that there are small vines trailing from the flower. Trapper earned her cutie mark while in school, during her project for a science fair, she had tested different types of bugs in an attempt to see which would make a Venus fly trap grow the fastest, unfortunately for her, all of the fly traps under her care grew to have the same health, when she presented her experiment to the judge, there was no obvious difference in the plants, so she won no prize that day, but she did get her cutie mark.
Age: Adult 20
Personality: Trapper is a shy pony, innocently minded, the type of pony who would rather be deep in a green house surrounded by her plants or curled up by a fire reading the latest botany article then out partying, she is kind and will socialize once encouraged, though having one or two friends would be preferable to her.
She gets very chatty about plants when the subject is brought up, but will shut herself up if the other pony shows signs of uninterest, also she has learned that she is a one drink under the table pony, due to a strange night in Canterlot, she therefore refrains from drinking.
She is not afraid of insects, having to deal with them as a food supply for her plants, but if she holds still too long they begin to gather on her, since she spends so much time with her plants, she takes on the alluring smell of the traps, which leads bugs to land on and try to find food on her, this annoys her to no end.
Likes: Eating, Breeding her plants, being out in the wild away from civilization.
Dislikes: Public speaking, Cruelty, when bugs swarm on her.
Trapper grew up in pony vill, in a good if uncaring home, her parents too busy with their own lives and occupations gave her the necessities but not the proper amount of love or attention a young pony needed. This being said she did not grow up unhappy, in fact it was probably best for her that her parents were distant, giving her time to wander out of the house unaccompanied, she would wander close to the woods never quite going near enough to draw an animal’s attention. It was wandering about the edge of the wilderness that she discovered her fondness for plants, a strange thing for a young foal to be interested, but soon her room would be covered with strange flowers and plants that would make a strange perfume drift down from her room.
School was a minor interest in her life, but biology held her attention where no other school subject could, when she learned about how plants bred and could cross to create new plants she of coarse had to try it for herself, not successfully creating a new species, but mixing the colors of flowers to make different hues.
Then the schools science fair began and she immediately entered herself, going out and collecting samples of plants new to her, carnivorous plants, small fly traps were going to be the subject of her project, she wanted to see what types of things would give them better nutrients and she tried several types of insects from ants to moths.
When the science fair began she sat eagerly in the middle of the auditorium, hopeful that she would win, her plants had grown obscenely large over that time and though she could tell which plant was the largest, to most pony’s they all looked about the same size. The judge came and went giving her the normal praise for her project before moving on. Trapper waited until the end of the fair, and watched heartbroken as the awards were given out, much to her dismay she had earned her cutie mark during her experiment, one she had thought quite lovely, a small mouth poking out between Venus fly trap flower petals with small vines trailing from it.
She trudged home that night her plants carried along in a wagon behind her, she said nothing to her parents and quickly went to her room, feeling both like a failure and that her special talent was useless, she went through school normally from that time, continuing her interest in botany, eventually cross breeding two types of traps.
Once out on her own, she had tried owning a plant stall in Pony vill, only to have to close up after a month of little to no sales, She has been looking around for odd work, tending pony’s gardens and helping out local farms, this failure in her business has reaffirmed in her mind that her special talent is pointless and it is a touchy subject for her to this day.
A foal has lost its mother and is sobbing inconsolably in the street. Given your OC’s personality, compose a brief narrative in which your OC identifies and addresses the situation.
Trapper away from the poster she had been reading on the side of a store, there was wailing and screaming very near to her, from the pitch it sounded like a foal. She walked away from the poster forgetting why it had attracted her attention in the first place, looking for the foal to see what was the matter, the fact it wasn’t being shushed or moving away made her think that there was a problem.
When she came across the little foal sitting in the street and now at a full on wail she flinched at the noise but approached the little one, since no pony seemed to be paying attention to it other than herself. “Erm… Shush, Shush, it’s going to be alright. Where are your mommy and daddy sweetie?” She looked around placing a gentle hoof on the young pony’s mane, looking around franticly for any pony that looked like they may be related to the foal, she was socially awkward and a hysterical foal was not in the list of things that she was good at dealing with.
