The Concert

Flame disk paced back and forth, looking through the curtain to see thousands of faces looking at the stage flame was behind. "Gah, the one concert I have thousands of ponies ad I end up with stage fright." He mumbled to himself as he looked at th large stage crew that he had hired to set up the concert. "I'm bankrupt if I dont do good on this. How can I pay for these guys?"

"I know, I know. I just don't think I'll be able to make a good impression. My whole career is on the line with this one concert." Flame said, trying to hear the music that was playing over the mumbled conversations of ponies.

Flame nodded and looked at steam. "Thanks. But my music is what really counts. If they don't like it, I'm done for." He said, looking at the crowd once again.

"And another one, if I may!"

The bartender slid another whiskey bottle down to Thunder Gust, quite amazed at the Unicorn's high metabolism. Four bottles and he was still going, without a single hint of drunkenness crossing him.

"Thank you, friend!"

Gust caught the drink and turned around in his stool, once again facing the nearby stage. He was in Canterlot for the time being because of a request made by one of the head honchos of the city's night life, performing 8 two hour shows that week, in five clubs around the area. This night happened to be the one that he had off from any work or performances, and so the DJ had stopped by this location in order to attend a concert he had heard about, apparently being hosted by a 'Flame Disk' in Canterlot that day.

The name was familiar, at least. Gust had heard the pony's title come up more and more in the past month or so; the newest producer to pop up in Equestria had apparently had the privilege to experience a sudden rise to fame. Unfortunately, Gust had also never heard of the pony's work live. He had heard a few of his beats played by a handful of fellow DJs, but the experience to listen to him live had eluded him. Luckily, that problem would be fixed soon enough.

The Unicorn took a long sip of his whiskey, easily emptying half the bottle in a few seconds, and adjusted his sunglasses, awaiting the show ahead.

((Hy vinyl. Fame disk actually goes by the name of red flame at concerts. Just to let you know.))
Flame disk shook his head. "Not this many, no. Ad I heard that a couple other DJs were gonna be here as well. I don't want to be the laughing stalk of the music community." He said, looking at the stage once again.

((Same difference.))

Gust took another sip of his drink, still awaiting the DJ he had heard of to appear while he lightly tapped his hoof to the beat of the music that was currently playing. This kid better show up soon, or ponies might get annoyed... Hope everything's alright backstage...

Brawny has no idea what concert this is, who's preforming, what music is being played.... But getting backstage is always awesome. Problem is, he has no backstage pass. Waiting near the stage entrance, he sees a poor stallion with his pass. Brawny walks up to him and says: "Hey, I need you to look at something for me really quick." He leads hi away from security, knocks him out, takes the passes and walks away with a grin. "That was a lot easier than I thought." He walks backstage flashing the pass to anypony who tried to stop him. He goes to meet Flame Disk, the gentlecolt preforming tonight.

He walks up to him and starts a conversation. "Hey, how's it goin? I don't know who you are, what songs you play, but I'm here." He's mostly looking to learn what he plays and how he plays it

The noise was deafening as the crowd was settling down for their concert. His trench coat tied tight to his body Gumshoe walked throws the rows of seats as he looked over the crowd. He got this tickets on a whim, after getting a good bonus on his case he decided he deserved a treat. He found where his seat is, and decided to take a look around first, walking down near the stage and around to the concession/merchandise areas. He was looking through the number of hats with the performer's name on it, none a fedora unfortunately. "Flame Disk, huh, well hopefully they live up too this hype."

Flame disk nodded, then turned to the new pony. "Hey. Thanks for comming to the concert. Hope you like it." He said before trotting over to an area that he could review his music.

"You're already done? Again?"

"Eeyup. Now lets go! Third one down a hatch!"

"That was your fourth, actually." The bartender hands him a fifth bottle, on the house just because the scene was entertaining.

Gust shrugs. "Same difference." He opens the bottle and begins to drink the liquid contained within, still awaiting the concert to begin.

Brawny thought this Unicorn was pretty cool. Looked a little odd, but he seemed interesting enough. "I'll be honest. I've heard of you a few times before. And I'm a musician myself. What kind of music do you play?" He was absolutely clueless about anything Flame did. But, what better way to learn than straight from the pony writing the music."

"You got stage fright, huh? It's happened to me before. Once you finish your first song, it's all natural. And if you wanna be sure....." he takes out a bottle Sambucka, (Ponyfied Sambuca I came up with) takes a sip, and hands the bottle to Flame Disk. "This should help you out."

Gumshoe continues to browse, coming onto a bar set up among the concessions. A unicorn seemed to be throwing back the drinks, the bartender keeping up smoothly though. Gumshoe trots up too the bar and knocks his hoof on the counter. "I'll have what they're having, make it a double." Climbing up onto a stool one down from the Unicorn enjoying their drink.

Flame disk coughed a little as the fog began to turn into smoke. "What's going on? Tose worked fine a minute ago!" He called back to steam.

"I'll have what they're having, make it a double."

Thunder Gust turned his gaze around to face the stranger who had decided to sit next to him. He gave a big smile, originating from how the mule had decided to order his drinks. Now this is my type of guy. "'Ello, there! Name's Thunder Gust, and may I ask how are you doing this fine day?"

He awaited the stranger's answer, but quite quickly he was distracted by the fog that was flowing out from the stage. Fog or smoke, that is... The Unicorn frowned. He didn't like the looks of this. "Hey, you know what's goin' on back there?"

While drinking his Sambucka, since Flame wasn't interested, Brawny took notice to the smoke machines going off randomly. Either that's really good or really bad. He tapped Flame on the shoulder and said: "Well, I guess that's your cue. If not, that's unfortunate. Guess we'll talk later?" Brawny just lounged around the backstage waiting for the show to start. Still had no idea about anything this pony does or plays. Time to find out, it seems

Flame disk nodded and looked at the stage. "Yeah. I think I got this." He said, trying not to freak out. He began to walk over to his equipment, looking out at the crowd and waving a little.

Within a few minutes of the fog machine incident, Gust saw Flame Disk slowly walk onto the stage, approaching the equipment set at the front of the platform. As soon as the DJ was visible, a giant roar of cheering and applause quickly arose from the crowd, which went on until the Unicorn was nearly across the stage at his equipment. When Gust saw Red Flame enter the stage, he simply grinned a little, once again taking in a bit more of his whiskey. He finished the bottle and placed it behind him, and the bartender quickly replaced the beverage with a fresh one. Alright, let's see what your made of, kid...
