Query for Mods- Retiring OCs

So. Two of my OC's (Heart Dealer and Diamond Dealer) were the first app I submitted on here. I put a lot of time into their apps and characterisation, but they've had barely any use, and this is for several good reasons.

- They've got very specific jobs in locations that aren't getting a lot of play on the site right now, simply because forum activity is down.
- They work great together, but I can't put the two of them in every story I contribute to. It's too hard and boring for everybody else.
- Most importantly- I don't feel like their characters have anywhere to go. As of they are right now they are set, and have finished a small journey of sorts all on their own as to how I could grow them as ponies, as individuals. This makes for dull plot.

All that being said, I don't just want to delete that application. Someday I may have a use for them, but... that day is not today. I also need to RP more before I apply for extra space to make another character (which I have in mind, along with some definite, though short term, plot for her).

So, my question is- Is it possible to temporarily retire the two of them, then apply for permission to add them back onto my set if and when that day comes?
