Name: Mirage
Gender: Female
Species: Earth Pony
Mane: Mint Blue, Grey Bow
Tail: Mint Blue
Eyes: Grey
Body: Light Yellow
Cutie Mark: Crystal Ball
Age: Young Adult
Personality:
Mirage is level headed and likes to think things through before diving in. Typically, she is cool, collected, and doesn’t loose control of her emotions. One of the few exceptions includes defending her magic tricks from criticism. Otherponies might perceive this as being cold and unfeeling. She isn’t easily discouraged and never gives up on learning a new trick. Mirage will perform in any condition if it means somepony will watch her magic tricks. Mirage is a bit socially awkward and would rather keep to herself.

Likes: Mirage enjoys telling fortunes, performing magic tricks for young ponies, reading and writing books, and doodling on random scraps of paper.

Dislikes: Mirage dislikes ponies who don’t appreciate her tricks, failing, ponies who give up too easily, and when she fails a magic trick in front of an audience.

History:
Mirage was just a little filly when she saw her first magic show performed by three unicorns. She was in awe as she watched them saw ponies in half and put them back together again and conjure flowers and scarves out of thin air. She was called to the stage and they made her disappear and reappear on the other side of the stage. Mirage knew she wanted to use magic just like those unicorns did. She thought she could just become a unicorn so she taped a cardboard cone to her head claiming to be a unicorn. Her parents immediately stopped her fearing that she didn’t love herself for who she was. They instead bought her a book on magic tricks for non-unicorns. Even though she would never have true magic, Mirage was content with the illusion and trickery of her pony tricks.

Mirage was wandering through the streets of Ponyville when she looked up to see a magnificent crystal ball in an antique shop window. Her curiosity got the better of her and she ventured inside the shop. As she entered her hoof brushed against a rickety shelf of teacups. It went crashing down and every one of them broke. A crotchety old pony rushed to the front of the shop with a furious look in her eyes. Mirage told the mare she would perform magic tricks as payment for the damage. She attempted every trick she knew, but she was so flustered and afraid of failing that none of her tricks went right. The mare grew increasingly madder to the point of kicking the poor filly out of the store. Thinking on her hooves, Mirage grabbed the crystal ball of the shelf, against the old mare’s exclamations for her to stop, and set it on the floor. She waved her hooves mystically and a strange sensation came over her. She told the mare a fortune and surprisingly the mare believed it. The old mare asked more and more questions too prove Mirage’s credibility. Mirage answered correctly every time. When she finished, the old mare told her to look at her flank. Low and behold, a crystal ball cutie mark was there.

Example RP segment:
Mirage trotted down the busy streets of downtown Ponyville. Her saddlebags were bursting at the seams with magic tricks and props. She picked up her pace because she didn’t want to be late for her next performance. As she turned the corner, she saw a mournful foal wailing on the ground.

“I predict that he had lost his mother,” Mirage thought to herself.

Mirage trotted up to the little foal. She was about to say something to calm the hysteric child but paused to think it through.

“I could try to console the foal but I have no clue where his mother is and would feel bad leaving him. If I wait until his mother comes, I would be really late for my magic show,” Mirage  thought.

“However, if I don’t console the foal I would feel horribly guilty for leaving him here,” Mirage mused to herself..

Mirage sighed and shook her head, she knew that she would have to comfort the foal or she wouldn’t feel right. She put her hoof on the little foal’s head.

“Er…There, there….urm little guy,” Mirage said awkwardly, not used to comforting other ponies.

The little filly looked up at Mirage imploringly and whimpered, “I can’t find my mommy.” Then she burst into tears sobbing uncontrollably.

“I’ve never been good at this whole social thing,” Mirage thought to herself sighing. Then suddenly an idea popped into her head. There was one thing she could count on in a time of need…her magic tricks! Mirage whipped out a deck of cards.

“ Pick a card, any card, but don’t show me,” Mirage said as she shuffled the cards and fanned them out in front of the filly. Tentatively, the filly chose a card from Mirage’s hoof, then returned it.

Shuffling the cards with great extravagance, Mirage shouted, “Card, revelabit!”

Mirage brandished a random card from her hand, “Was Ace of spades your card,” she inquired. Tears welling up in the little fillings eyes foreshadowed impending doom, or another fit of hysterics.
Mirage continued her performance, “Why what’s this” she asked in mocked shock.
She began to pull scarf after scarf each tied together from her saddlebags. At the end of the extremely long rope of scarves, was a card.

She declared confidently, “Is this your card?”

The filly nodded enthusiastically giving Mirage a big hug. At that moment the young filly’s distraught mother came racing around the corner. After an enormous thank you the mother, Mirage was on her way.

“I guess I didn’t miss my magic show after all,” Mirage mused with a smile.

Wow, this app was amazing! The only problem I have is that the magic tricks getting out of hand and becoming real, since she is an earth pony... And the predictions as well. If you're careful with it, I could see it working! In other words, APPROVED!
Also, Welcome to the forum!
