Rushing for Help

It was extremely dark outside when DJay flew into the lot. She fell as she landed and muffled a scream of pain. She looked at the hospital. The lights were on and the 24/7 words were lit up. She looked at her broken leg. She grimaced in pain as she stood on her other 3 legs. She used her wings to get up and to the door. She flew in then fainted form pain just inside the door.

Switchblade was standing guard in the hospital for the night shift when he saw the pony crash to the floor, he rushed over to them and used his magic to levitate her onto one of the hospital beds, putting her down in a way that would not put pressure on her obviously broken leg, he then called for a doctor.

DJay woke up and hissed at the light. Her wing covered her vision and she looked for the pony who helped. She clicked her tongue a few times and the vision of the pony came to her mind. 'A unicorn..' She thought and sat up, forgetting her leg then screaming in pain as pressure was put on it. She lay panting on the bed, pain gripping her leg.

Switchblade heard the pony scream and turned quickly around "Calm down." he said reassuringly "The doc is coming as soon as he's free, until then you might have to put up with good old military first aid, but I need your permission, otherwise I can't help you." He said casually.

DJay moved her wing slightly and looked sat the colt. Her leg twitched sending another wave of pain and she hissed falling back again. "Ok! PLEASE!" She yelled, pain coating her voice.

Switchblade nodded, getting two metal splints from under the bed and some rope, he then gave DJay a emergency sedetive from the first aid and nodded at her "I'm sorry but this next part will hurt." he said bluntly, using his magic to set the displaced bone back in position and tie the splints to either side.

DJay screamed in pain and bit the pillow starting to cry. The pain soon numbed then so did the rest of her as she fell asleep.

The doctors then rushed in, taking DJay to the ward while Switchblade followed carefully. When they arrived he took up post next to the hospital bed and waited for her to wake up.

DJay woke up in a different room and sat up, a small but powerful pain swarmed her leg. She looked down and saw a splint on her leg. She hissed at the light covering her eyes with her wings. 'Please turn off the lights! I can't deal with them." She hissed and rolled onto her belly reaching for the floor then falling off the bed. "Where did those darn goggles..." She muttered clenching her teeth in pain.

Switchblade jumped up, hearing her complain about the light, he then remembered her species and looked at the light, no way would they allow it to be turned off, so he took his darkened goggles off his head and gave them to DJay.

She grabbed them and put them on and used her wings to fly back on the bed. "Thanks. Now I can SEE!" She said and looked at him, finally getting a sense of what he looked like. 'A guard. Cool, but he doesn't have royal armor..... must just do it for fun.' She thought. "What do you do?" She asked out of the blue after staring.

Switchblade smiled "I'm a freelance enforcer, I perform the duties of detective, guard and security for a bit more than the royal guards cost. I also work as a cogsmith." he said, deciding not to comment on her staring

"Oh, cool. I don't have a job. I am wandering around Equestria looking for my siblings. They were taken from the orphanage, haven't been able to see them since. I just want to find them again. We are a family and we have to be together....... and I SWEAR IF THEY ARE LUNA'S ROYAL GUARDS IM GONNA BE SO MAD!" DJay said then slammed her front hoof on the bed with the last few words.

Switchblade jumped back as DJay yelled, he regained his composure and nodded "Well, if you want, I can run some searches through the guard archives to attempt to help you find them."

"REALLY!! Thank you so much!" DJay said welling up with excitement. She sat up and looked at her leg. "I think I can take the splint off." She said. "My leg feels fine." She said.

Switchblade tilted his head "Depends on how you got the injury in the first place." he noted her happiness and relaxed, he sat in a chair next to the bed "So what's your name?"

"My name is DJay and as you can tell, I'm a bat pony. I got my injury when I was messing with some ponies. I fell out of the sky and landed on my leg. It broke right then and there. I was having an adrenaline rush and didn't feel it until I was halfway to ponyville. I nearly fell again from pain but flew until I got here and BAM, here we are now." DJay said leaning back in her bed.

"Ah, a prankster I suppose. Well it seems that fate caught up with you in a rather unfortunate way. Anyway, I guess that you might be able to put a small amount of weight on it, but walking is out of the question, sorry DJay."

"I am a prankster indeed. Exploding berries in the Everfree forest, best prank. I guess I could fly and when daylight comes I must find shelter, or risk my eyes." DJay said.

Switchblade sighed "You know what. While I run some background checks through the archive, you could always stay at my house; you're in no way to travel around the everfree forest. I have a basement on my house so light wouldn't be a problem."

"Cool! I don't want to stay in this place of sickness or some fake deaths will be found. Some of them won't be fake." She said rolling out of the bed.

Switchblade shuddered "I know how you feel. Here let me help you." Switchblade said, moving to allow DJay to lean on him.
