Last Chance

Paint Splash sighed as he watched ponies of all type pass him by. Nothing about this group of ponies seemed to have the spark he needed to paint.

"This is a disaster," Splash thought a loud, "I couldn't paint another work of art to save my life... which happens to be what I'm trying to do."

Slowly, he started to look around again trying desperately to find some form of inspiration.

Sweet Dreams stumbles down the path many bags of apples floating around her but the strain from the long use of her magic combined with the many bags of apple finally took its toal, with a final spark from her horn her magic goes out causing the bags to fall and apples to go everywhere.

"O-Oh no...Now look at what I've done..." She says as she slowly starts to pick up the apples, while many a pony walk around her and the apples a few even stepping on them or kicking them out of the way but not one stopping to help.

Splash saw this scene, immediately he springs over to help

"A-are you ok Miss?" he scrambled to help her pick up the mess trying to salvage what he can of the apples.

Sweets noticed a second pair of hooves helping pick up the apples. "I'm Alright this happens all the ........time..." She says as she looks up at him pausing a moment before picking up the last apple and smiled at him. "Hi My name is Sweet Dreams, thank you for helping me Mr...?"

"Paint Splash... It's not a problem." he didn't meet her gaze, but instead looked at where his stuff is, more correctly was. Immediately, he got up running and shouting after the young ponies who decided that his stuff was free game and took it for their own.

"Come back with my paint!" He dropped to his knees knowing they were not coming back.

Sweets walk over her ears pined back "I'm sorry...If you hadn't helped me....If you'd like ill buy you some new paint" She said looking down, it seemed like every pony she met seemed to have bad luck around her. "I know its not much but...As a thank you for your kindness"

"I... I can't accept that offer...." He looked up to her a sad smile on his face, " your money would only be wasted... I... I can't find inspiration in anything anymore... I can't paint..." he looked down to the ground slamming his hoof into it hard in defeat.

Sweets took a step back before walking over to him "Well then I guess I'll have to help you find some inspiration then hmm?" She says before spinning out the spot and starts walking towards a row of stores her horn lighting up as she uses her magic to drag Paint Splash along with her. "I wont be taking No for an answer"

"But my paint!" Splash said scrambling the opposite direction, "I-I know where those ponies are going t-to take them!"

Sweets stopped and turned in place "Well then if we want to get them back we should get going" She pulled out and apple and in almost in a blink of an eye ate it down to the core. "So which way?"

"T-the park on main street." Splash said, still held by her magic thus unable to start that way

She released him from her magic grip as she starts to trot ahead of him "Well comeon then!" She says before biting into another apple. It seemed her craving for apples was getting worse.

He stood up stretching a bit before taking off to main street park, looking back only to see if Sweet Dreams was following. In less than five minutes he had gotten to the park and slowed walking towards a small shed.

Sweets followed him " You sure this is safe?" She asked again biting into another apple.

Splash Nodded, opening the door the paints are all neatly put away inside.

"Those ponies are always doing this... it's like they are obsessive compulsive about my paints looking nice..."

Sweets took a closer look at the paints " They are all very pretty colors....maybe that's why...or maybe they just like teasing you"

"I only hope so..." splash started to collect his paints and brushes.

Sweets smiled "So were too now?" She says with a smile.

"well... I don't know, I thought that you had a plan." Splash frowned noting that one of his brushes had a clump of bristles missing.

Sweet taped her chin in thought until something popped into her head "Oh Oh I know!" She said and she runs off "We got to hurry if were going to make it!" She yells behind her. Why hadn't she thought of it before? What better place to go for inspiration then the one place that she often went to for the very same reason?

Splash Followed lugging all of his painting equipment slowing him to just barely a fast walk.

"H-hey wait up!"he yelled as he tripped over a large rock as he tried desperately to keep pace.

Sweets slowed a bit waiting a moment or two before running off again. Soon it could be sent why they had arrived at a large patch of flowers, in the very center a star shaped pond. Sat down on a bench panting softly from the run. "I always come here when I need to think or just to relax" She says as she stares out at the water "Or sometimes even to work."

Splash looked around after setting his stuff up, taking in everything but sighed heavily.

"This.... This isn't it.... It's not what will inspire me..." he dropped heavily to the ground looking at his paints

Sweets smiled" I never said I brought you here to inspire you I brought you here to try and get you to relax and to talk" She said with a chuckle "Sometimes to find something you first have to stop looking for it" She says munching on another apple.

"what do you mean...?" Splash simply stared at Sweet Dreams, "I've been looking for years... and just when i find it... my paint is taken... then I have to find it all over again..."
