I just can't stop thinking about it

Spirit entered the Tea shop hoping he could relax as things have been pretty stressful for the Pegasus.

He looked at the menu and ordered some Relaxation sensation.

He blew on the tea hoping it would cool it down a little and took a sip.

Spirit always had a soft spot for tea so this was just wonderful, and he could not resist smiling as he enjoyed the tea. After a while though he started to drift into a state of sadness, and ended up just staring at a empty cup of tea.



I don't know what to do... *Spirit said to himself*

Star strolled lazily through town, having already seen all the sights and done all the things to do. She drifted towards an alluring scent, a tea shop. well I haven't had tea in a while. she thought herself, trotting the rest of the way to the small shop. As she entered, she was overwhelmed by the smell of it. She inhaled the sweet scent and walked thoughtfully up to the counter, ordering herself a mug of vanilla chai tea.
Dropping four bits on the counter, she leaned against the sleek surface to wait.

Spirit got up and went to the counter ordered another cup, barely noticing the unicorn next to him.

"Another cup?, you must be worried about something." the the pony said before giving Spirit the tea, Yeah...a lot in fact." Spirit said before returning to his previous seat .

Star raised an eyebrow as a lime green Pegasus ordered another drink, saying something about being worried. Star shrugged and picked up her mug. She glanced around the shop, the tables were mostly taken up.
"Excuse me" she said to the green pony "may I sit here? It would appear there's no seats left." she finished, giggling a bit.

"Sure I don't mind, I need to get familiar with the ponies in this town anyhoof." he said before he took a sip of his tea.

"So are you from around here?." he asked the light blue unicorn with a curious look.

"Thanks." Star said with a smile, "no, I'm not from aroun here, I live in Canterlot. What about you?"

She sipped her chai, inhaling its scent as well as its flavor. "Wow, this is really good." she thought to herself, drinking more of the sweet tea.

"Just moved here a few days ago." he took brief sip of his tea before continuing.

"As of now i'm working on cloud control, though that's not something I wanna do for long." he said staring thoughtfully at his cup of tea, before looking back at Star. "But anyhoof you are from Canterlot?." he asked with a polite interest.

"Ah" Star said, of course he would be new. There seemed to be a lot of new ponies nowadays.
"Why don't you want to do cloud control? Most of the Pegasi I know love that job." she added, taking a long sip from her chai before answering his question.
"Yes, I am from Canterlot."
She grinned, laughed and finished her tea.

"Well it's because I used to be a veterinarian, and I still am I just want to become a private one since working in a public one causes a lot of trouble." he explained before taking another sip of his tea.

"I'm working on getting a house to get started."

"Oh, hm. I used to be interested in animals, till I was attacked by a dog." Star said with a sad smile, remembering the incident.
"Anyways, if you don't have a house yet, where are you staying?" she asks to distract herself.

For now I'm staying at a hotel, though I have bought a house I just need to get the papers first." he answered.

"So I at least have that going for me"he reassured the unicorn.

"The real reason I moved to Ponyville was to get away from all the other pegasi, they made fun my career choice, but I just don't share their lifestyle." he said in a sad tone before continuing, I know that they were joking but it did make sense in some way I never participated in races or really any psychical activities, I usually walk instead of fly, and I like being close to the ground, and enjoy the nature that surrounds me. " he took a small sip of his tea and continued "and it's easier to help animals when they can stand on the ground without magic." he sighed and stared at the now half empty cup of tea

Star sat still, stunned.
"Wow, you really like animals don'tcha?" she asked with a light laugh.
"Wait, hold that thought." she said suddenly.
Star stood and walked up to the counter and ordered another mug of chai and biscuits. She returned to the table and dunked a biscuit in the liquid, munching on its deliciousness.
"Ok, now you can answer my question." she declared with a grin.

He chuckled a bit before continuing, "Yeah it's just so satisfying to see their happy faces when you take care of them , and it breaks my heart to see them hurt." he stopped briefly to take another sip of his tea ,"And it's the only thing I'm really good at." he explained.


"But enough about me, what are you good at?." he asked the unicorn.

"Me?" Star asked, looking around as if he was talking to some other pony.
"Well, I look at the universe. All the stars and possibilities out there just waiting to be discovered."
Star grinned, the thought of her telescope bringing light to her face.
"Oh jeez! Where are my manners? I'm Stargazer, but you can just call me Star." she suddenly remembered, offering her hoof on greeting.

Spirit accepted her greeting "Oh horsefeathers I forgot to introduce myself as well I'm Spirit Hop," he said kinda embarrassed that he did not introduce himself sooner.

"So I take it that you know a lot about Astronomy?." he asked Stargazer before taking another sip of tea.

Star nodded, laughing.
"Well, it's nice to meet you Spirit Hop. And yes, I do know quite a bit about astronomy. I take it you've picked up a few things about animals." she said with a grin, dunking a biscuit in the chai.

Spirit laughed "Well I must admit to have a polite interest in the subject." he said with a grin.

"Have you heard of a pony called Cloud Dancer?, she was in town just a few days ago." he asked the unicorn before he took a sip of his tea.

"Cloud Dancer? Yes, I did meet her briefly before our....mutual friend left." Spirit said quietly, sadly remembering the quick encounter.

"Anyways." Star blinked, "I love the stars, so how long have you worked with animals?"

Spirit looked at her slightly seriously "You don't like talking about things that's sad huh?," he said in a relating tone before changing subject,

"But anyhoof I have worked with animals since I was sixteen it was decided that I should work with animals instead of other ponies do to the amount of trust the animals had to me,"

he drank the last bit of tea in his cup and continued, "of course I already worked with animals before then but that was more favors than anything." he explained.

"No....I prefer to push sad memories from my mind." Star nodded, and she felt heat rush to her cheeks.
"That's very interesting. Do you remember how you got into animals?" she asked quietly, switching the subject

"Well it started when I was about four years old, I had to stay with my aunt who is a earth pony by the way ,while my parents were out of town, so I had a lot of time at her farm and that was a lot of fun, but then one of her dogs got sick while she was out to get groceries and I did not know what to do, then I noticed that it was gasping for air and told it to lie on it's back it followed my instructions and I pushed the dogs chest with my hooves and it coughed up a toy,"

he was about to take another sip of his tea but realized the cup was empty, he shrugged and continued

"When my aunt returned home she just saw me and the dogs playing and thought nothing was odd, then she saw that I got my cutie mark," he smiled a bit at the last part, My mom and dad are still kicking themselves today because they weren't there when I got it." he said before he leaned back in his seat.

Star laughed, wishing her stories could be that interesting.
"Wow. That's a fun story! By the way, how did you meet Cloud?" she asked, sipping her tea.

"We met at a party a friend of mine had, she introduced herself to me and we talked for a while, just about art and various types of dances, we then danced and it went well for both of us until she tripped, but luckily I caught her just in time, we looked into each others eyes, it was like we were meant be toge-." he stopped abruptly with a sad look on his face.

Star tilted her head in confusion as the green pony stopped talking suddenly.
"Wait, what? Why'd you stop?" she prompted, her eyes wide with interest. "Come on, you can tell me."
Star grinned and finished her tea in one gulp, awaiting the rest of his story.

Spirit looked at Star sighed and continued "well ever since that night I just couldn't stop thinking about her... I've been meaning to ask her out ,*sighs* but I don't think she would say yes, I mean why would she care about a nopony like me?." he said staring at his empty teacup
