Guile's first night in Ponyville

Guile stumbled into the tavern with a mix of tiredness and suaveness showing on his face. He looked around the room at all the new faces then proceeded to the bar. There was a lot of talking going on and friendly faces around him. He quickly walked through in a shy way focusing his eyes on where he was going. There were a bit of people looking at him although that would be expected for a newcomer.

He arrived at the bar, then spoke up to the keeper looking at him, "Hey, I'll take a regular apple cider." He put a few bits on the table from his side pouch then took a seat.

Stargazer strutted into the tavern, happily waving at ponies she knew and didn't. She was in Ponyville gathering supplies for an experiment, and decided to pop in for a drink.
"Hey! I'll take a, uh, Flaming Whizbang please!" she requested. The "Flaming Whizbang" sounded exciting! Star sat down at the bar counter next to a brown earth pony.
"Hey there!" she said with an overly happy smile. She turned back to the counter and dropped three bits on the counter as the pony tending the bar came back with her drink. She downed it in one gulp and burped loudly. The drink was sort of spicy, and a few moments later, she burped again and out came a little puff of fire. She laughed and ordered another one.

Guile looked over with a tiny bit of shock on his face because of the fire. "Oh, Howdy." He reached down into his bag and flung a few more bits on the counter. The barkeeper asked what he'd like. He thought about it for a moment then looked over to the pony beside him. He smiled and ordered a Flaming Whizbang. He gulped it down with a curious look on his face while slowly turning in his chair towards the pony beside him. "So this isn't gonna hurt is -" BURRRP a little flame puff escaped his mouth.

Guile looked directly at the pony and with a chuckle he said, "That's pretty fun."

"Isn't it?" Star said happily as she ordered yet another one. "I'm Stargazer, most ponies call me Star though." She added.

"Nice to meet you, Star. I'm Gui-." His voice cracked a bit so he put his hoove over his mouth and cleared his throat a little. "er.. Guile" he continued with a light chuckle.

(Sorry I might reply a little late sometimes. I'll most likely reply faster in the future :P)

"Nice to meet you too Guile!" Star said happily. "What's up?" she asked politely but eagerly. she gulped down her drink and burped again, producing an even larger flame-image than before. she laughed and ordered an apple cider.

"Just spending my first night in Ponyville at my favorite kind of place." He heartily replied with a smile. He ordered an apple cider too and planned on not drinking this one too quickly. He took a sip and said, "So how long have you been around here? I mean do ya live here.. or?"

"Live here? oh no, I live in Canterlot. I'm just here to get some supplies, they don't have everything up there!" she said with a friendly smile. "I'm gathering materials to make a new telescope, my old one broke. And I'm also grabbing anything else that catches my eye." Star shoved her hoof in her mouth before she said anymore, she knew she could just ramble on, and she didn't want to scare anypony away.

Guile chuckled at her stopping herself from talking. "Ahh so you're making a telescope and you those peculiar wings.." He raised his eyebrow with a smile, "You wouldn't happen to be a scientist or somethin would ya?"

"huh?" Star asked, looking at her back, had she forgotten to take of those decorative wings? Apparently... She reached onto her back and quickly pulled them off her back. She stuffed them into her saddle bag and turned to reply. "Yes, I am a scientist! With experiments and such!" she said with a grin. she sipped her cider and asked "What do you do? you live here now?"

"Yeah I just moved here from Appleoosa. I don't exactly have a profession. I usually help ponies out with their physical work and when possible find ways to make the job easier for them in the future." He took a sip of his cider then chuckled, "nothing really too exciting."

"Oh cool! Appleloosa! I've always wanted to go there. What's it like there?" Star said excitedly, sipping her cider but spilling it all over herself instead. "Ah! hot hot hot!!" she exclaimed. the counter-pony walked over with a wash cloth and Star took it and dabbed at her chin. she blushed, embarrassed.

Guile laughed and jokingly said, "Hey that apple cider is pretty good but I don't know if I'd wanna wear it." He smiled and confidently rose his eyebrow after he stopped chuckling. "Oh and um.. Appleloosa is a nice place. Just a bunch of friendly folks and cider brewers from what I've seen."

He noticed some cider droplets on her shoulder and said, "Oh, er.. You got a little somethin' there." while pointing with his hoof.

"Hey that apple cider is pretty good but I don't know if I'd wanna wear it."

Star laughed as she continued to dry herself.
"Oh and um..Appleloosa is a nice place. Just a bunch of friendly folks and cider brewers from what I've seen."
"Oh." Star said, a tad disappointed that Appleloosa sounded so boring.

"Oh, er...you got a little somethin' there." said Guile as he pointed at her shoulder.

"Oh, thanks." she said as she dabbed at her shoulder with the washcloth. Once she was all dry, she gave the cloth back to the counter-pony and he put it away.
"So, what did you do back in Appleloosa? You must've had a job." she asked, trying to carry the conversation along.

"Well my parents are apple cider brewers. While I was there I worked with them." He took a sip of his drink. He looked down and tried hard to think about something interesting. "So uh.. You said you've done experiments? Anything interesting in particular?" He said with a half raised head and smile.

(I probably should have studied up on what goes on in Appleloose lol)

"Yeh, I love experimenting! Right now I'm testing the effects of UV radiation on butterfly wings, and also to see if chewing gum stops you from crying when cutting onions. And of course, my telescope. I have a ton of other on going and failed experiments back at the apartment." Star replied. She didn't want to mention how the experiments were stacked to the ceiling so there was barely in room to move......
"So, where are you staying? Have you been around town yet?" she asked as she sipped her cider.

Guile raises his right eyebrow.

"I've looked around a little." He said while looking towards the door. He looked back and with a smile said, "I haven't purchased a home yet though. I figured I'd just sleep on a park bench or something tonight." He slouched down with his hoof placed on his chin. "I'll probably try to get a house on the outer ring of town at some point."

"Oh don't be silly! You can't sleep outside! You can come stay with me for the night at the apartment I rented." She said kindly, glad they weren't in Canterlot where her room was a complete mess. The apartment in Ponyville had two rooms, and she would be happy to share with Guile.
"So Whaddia say? You can spend the night in my spare room tonight, and tomorrow I can help you look for a house!" She said excitedly.

Guile was a little shocked hearing that. He took a big gulp of his drink. "Uh, yeah sure - If you really don't mind." he replied with a silly look on his face. He didn't expect to make this good of a friend on his first night in a new town, but crazier things have happened.

He put the rest of the bits he owed on the counter. Then looked at Star and said, "Well, whenever you're ready to go." He started to get shy for no reason and looked around the taverm in different areas instead of either looking straight ahead over the counter or at her.

"Of course I don't mind, and yeh lets go." Once the two ponies left the tavern, Sar said "it's this way." An turned right towards her apartment. The building was fairly small, more like a hotel then an apartment building. She walked in and strolled to the elevator. She pushed the button for her floor, 2, and the elevator shot up. She quickly unlocked her room and waved to Guile. "Come on in! Whaddia think?"
The first room was a bit small an there was a small kitchen and table. Star shier Guile to the two rooms, her room and the spare room. "You'll be staying in this one." She said, showing him the other one.
