After the Game

Rainstream walks away from the stadium, having just watched the air hockey game between the Cloudsdale ponies and griffons. "I never get tried of watching those games," she says to herself, heading to get a drink before walking home. Rain wouldn't admit it, but she loved sports, they were fun to watch and even more fun to play. "I should write a book about one of the air hockey games," she says to herself, getting her drink and placing some bits on the counter.

ShadowFall was never quite sure what to do when she had a day off. Not that she wanted to be a weather pony every day of the year, but some some days she just didn't know what to do with herself. She often visited her parents or spent time with some of the other weather ponies, but today they were all busy and she was feeling a bit lonely. Still, she couldn't stay at home all day, so she'd decided to take a walk. An air hockey game was schedule for today and maybe she could watch. She wasn't into sports much, but watching wasn't the same as playing.

Realizing she was late for the game, and unaware that it was in fact over, Shadow rushed down the street and nearly ran into another pegasus with a drink. "Oh dear!" she exclaimed in dismay. "I'm sorry! I was just...trying to catch the game..." she trailed off a little, dipping her head shyly.

Thunderclap left the stadium, a sky blue and silver bandana around his neck. The colours of the Cloudsdale Cumulus, the home team. He breathed in the cool air, happy to get out of his home and out of Canterlot. He wore nothing to show his noble lineage, and his mane and tail were messy, having to fly through a little bit of turbulence to get there.

As he walked among the crowd, he noticed two ponies almost collide with each other. He slowly walked towards them. "Trying to catch the game?" He asked, "Well, I am afraid you are quite late. Very late. The game just ended." He said, and laughed slightly.

"Oh dear," ShadowFall's head drooped. It really was later than she'd thought. Now she just felt silly for not realizing sooner. "I'm sorry," she told Thunderclap sheepishly. "Um...who won?" She wasn't sure she cared who won or not, but it seemed polite to ask. ShadowFall wasn't too much for conversation with strange ponies, but she knew she really aught to make more friends. Maybe missing the game wouldn't be so bad then.
