Collaboration

"What have you got for me?" Gordy asked his agent as he walked in. "I hope it's good. the trip here isn't exactly pleasurable." He was right. he didn't travel to Manehattan to talk often. he usually just gets a letter with a date, time, and location for his next performance or recording. "Yes, I wanted to run an idea by you." "ok..." This had Gordy a bit nervous. He doesn't usually take outside ideas for pretty much anything. "You've been performing all around Equestria for awhile now, and people are starting to know your name. I was thinking that it might be time you start working with other performers." He was afraid of that.

"I suppose so. Who were you thinking?" he asked with genuine interest. "He makes Dubstep. you may have heard of him. he goes by Red Flame." The name caught him by surprise. Gordy heard his music before and wondered what a collaboration would sound like. "Yeah, I know him. I like his music." "Good. Here's the address, The details are up to you two." using his magic, Gordy takes the paper with Flame's address and heads out.

Walking down the row of houses, Gordy read the paper floating in front of him one more time. looking up, it was right there. taking a deep breath, he walks up to the front door and knocks.

Flame disk ( also known as red flame) opened up the door. The sound of his music was audible from the front door. "Yes?" He asked, looking at Gordy, then at the note. "Oh. You got the message from your agent as well. Come on in. I'll show you my recording studio." He said, walking to the side to let Gordy in.

Walking inside, Gordy looks around. "nice place you have here." He said. turning back toward Flame, Gordy speaks up again. "I've heard your music before. it sounds really good." with any luck, this collaboration should sound great.

Flame nods. "yeah. i have the studio in the back of my house. i was reviewing some other music, seeing if i could get some ideas for the song were doing." he said, walking off towards the recording studio.

"Cool." Gordy said, following Flame. "I was thinking something upbeat and happy. what do you think?" the entire way here, Gordy had been thinking about what the song should be about. unfortunately the long trip only produced that idea. Hopefully Flame had more ideas.

Flame shrugged. "sure. been thinking about stepping out of my comfort zone anyways." he said, walking into the music studio.

Gordy nodded as flame agreed to the idea. entering the studio, Gordy is amazed at the quality of the place. "my studio looks amateur compared to this place. I like it." That would explain why Gordy's recordings are lower quality.

Flame shook his head. "not all of this is or recording. most of it is for the music." he said.

"makes sense. what better place to review the music than the studio?" Gordy said smiling a little. "Well, I guess we should get to work." Gordy says, walking around the studio.

Flame nodded. "I may as well do the same." He said, sitting down in front of one of the panels and turning off the music that was already playing. He then see his magic to start recording Gordy' lyrics.

Gordy looked around real quick to see if there was anything to inspire some lyrics. looking around at all of the modern technology, it hit him. "maybe something about older music? Like the Good ol' Days." Gordy said. "Heck, that could even be the title if you want."

Flame smiled. " yeah! I actually think I might have some settings to make it seem like he older kind of music that I made." H said, messing around with the knobs and settings on the panel, with various notes and tones blasting through the speakers at times.

"maybe a little piano for the intro?" Gordy Suggested. "I think I may already have an idea for some lyrics." Gordy stood up and picked the paper he and before and started writing lyrics on the back.

Flame nodded and began to play notes that were recorded from a while ack, forming them into a small intro.

Gordy nodded his head a little at the sound. "I like that. That sounds great" Gordy said, excited. finishing up his thought, he stops writing. "Lyrics-wise, here's what I'm thinking." He says clearing his throat.

He sang in a made-up tune. "Right?"

Flame nodded. "Yeah. And maybe after that se can maybe do this." He said, changing from the piano to a different tone, where it sounded more like pixels.

Gordy rocks his head slightly at the sound. "Right, a transition from old to new. I like it."

Fame nods and hits a button that's titled "loop". "There. Now it will repeat." He said, getting up.

"Cool." He says as he gets back to writing lyrics. He was never too great at making lyrics. after a lot of writing, scribbling, and thinking he had the first verse down. "ok, shall we get recording?"

Flame nodded. He had shut off the recording until now. He hit he record button and once again started the piano part.

Gordy rocked his head to the beat while he waited for the opportune to begin.

Gordy looked up at Flame at that point. "I guess that would finish the first verse already. you think so?"
